Evans wants cutting edge

MANAGER Steve Evans says the sooner Rotherham United start turning their pressure into goals, the better.

Despite bossing the second half of Saturday's match at Ipswich, they were unable to score and have netted just six times in nine matches since returning to the Championship.

Two goals in the opening six minutes by Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick were enough to earn the home side a 2-0 win, their fourth on the spin.

Evans said: "You can't have the dominance we had in the second half and also in the second half of our previous match against Charlton and only score one goal for that period of 90 minutes.

"If we produce the football we did (on Saturday) then we'll win games and I'd rather keep playing like that, hoping the goals go in, rather than being taken apart. But while we've played well, we need an end product."

The Millers will now attempt to end a run of five league matches without a win at home to Blackburn Rovers tomorrow night.

Skipper Craig Morgan is expected to return to the side having sat out the Ipswich match through suspension.
