Evans up for derby clash

MILLERS chief Steve Evans says a win over Sheffield United tomorrow will be his biggest yet at the club.

While the bookies have Rotherham, unbeaten in League One, down as favourites, Evans men go into the sell-out derby clash depleted by injuries and international call-ups.

Midfielder Michael O'Connor and Kari Arnason are on duty with Northern Ireland and Iceland respectively and defender Mark Bradley misses out with a groin injury. He joins winger David Worrall in the treatment room while young midfielder Mitch Rose, who was in contention to play tomorrow, requires a knee operation and has been ruled out until February.

Evans told the Advertiser: “Sheffield United have got us on the best Saturday they could. With O'Connor, Arnason, Worrall and Bradley, we're missing four players who would all start. That's not me making excuses, that's just stating facts.

“If our players can group together, get in the trenches and get 10,000 Millers right behind us, we stand a chance of winning and if we do it would be the biggest victory not just of this season but during my time here considering how depleted we are.”
