Easter away-days for youngsters

FOOTBALL-LOVING kids looking for something to do in the Easter holidays are being invited to join the Millers Masterclass.

Organised by Rotherham United Community Sports Trust at Wickersley School, they offer 5-14 year olds the chance to interact with each other, play football and have fun while keeping active. There will be gifts for all who attend as well as prizes to be won. The participants will also have the opportunity to meet Rotherham United players.

Dates are March 30–April 2 and April 7–10 and the cost is £10 a day (10am–3pm) or £40 for the week. Wrap-around care will be available from 8.30am–5pm.

lMeanwhile, Millers Academy secured another victory when they saw off Grimsby Town 4-1 at Bawtry Road last weekend.

Jerry Yates was the star of the show, setting Rotherham on their way with a terrific lob directly from the kick-off and finishing the match with a hat-trick.

Boss Garreth Barker said: “At any standard of football it is an astounding feat to master.”

Two more from Jates and one from Kuda Muskwe had the Millers four to the good by half time before the visitors pulled back a consolation goal.
