Duo aim for a boxing boom

Promoter and manager Dave Coldwell has joined forces with businessman Spencer Fearn to launch a new state-of-the-art fight centre at Masbrough—and Coldwell believes it will give the sport a massive boost in the town.

He said: “The new gym is part of the new partnership which will put together Spencer’s business experience with my boxing expertise and we think it will work really well.

“My old gym in the middle of Rotherham was unsuitable but the new place is something special. We will have all sorts going on here, fighters will be able to stay at the gyn when they’re up here training and we want to make Rotherham a place for champions.

“It is already a good fight town, but we want to produce more and more champions from here,” said Coldwell, who already has a string of successes to his name and is also Head of Boxing with the big Hayemaker group.
