Derby win lifts spirits

MANAGER Andy Scott is challenging Rotherham United to pick up where they left off against Bradford City when league action resumes in ten days time.

The Millers bounced back from Friday's 1-0 defeat at Cheltenham to beat their Yorkshire rivals 3-0 at Don Valley Stadium on Monday.

After a poor first half, two goals in five minutes by Lewis Grabban and a Brett Williams effort secured a win which keeps the Millers three points off the play-off frame before their next match at home to Swindon on Saturday week.

Scott said: "In the first half we needed a spark but in the second half we more than made up for it. We created chances and played with plenty of energy and looked a decent side and that's what we want to do for 90 minutes.

"It's another clean sheet—that's only one goal conceded in the last four games—and that's going to be the key in the second half of the season because we know there are goals in us."

Scott handed a debut to goalkeeper Rhys Taylor, in on a month's loan from Chelsea.

The manager is also working to keep on-loan pair Sam Wood and Jon Harley. Both their deals expire this month. Williams' loan from Reading isn't up until January 31.
