Cup mission for in-form Titans

COACH Lee Blackett wants in-form Rotherham Titans to keep breaking records, starting with tomorrow's British and Irish Cup clash at Bedford.

With seven straight victories behind them, the Clifton Lane outfit are on their best run for ten years and are chasing honours on two fronts.

Saturday's 59-3 blitz of Connacht at Clifton Lane put them into the quarter-finals of the B&I Cup for the first time and they'll resume their push to get back to the Premiership at Jersey next week.

But first comes a final Group 3 match at Bedford, where Rotherham need a win to stand a chance of landing a home draw in the last eight.

Blackett told the Advertiser: “The boys were outstanding last week, not just in attack but also in defence. No matter what changes we make, every player who comes in seems to perform and we want that to continue.

“I've not thought about Jersey yet because our sole focus is on Bedford. We haven't won there since 2006 and one thing you can be sure about them is that they will put a really competitive side out.

“It will be tough but we've a chance to make history and we want to keep this run going."

“As in the league and cup games, we’ll tinker slightly with the line-up but not too much.”

Kick-off at Goldington Road is 2pm.
