Brindley joins the U's

ANOTHER of the players released by the Millers has got fixed up with a new club.

Defender Richard Brindley has agreed a two-year deal with Colchester United after helping them stay in League One while on loan there at the end of last season. Colchester beat Preston on the final day to stay up.

Brindley (22) joined the Millers on a free from Chesterfield a couple of years ago. He made 18 appearances, including in last year's play-off triumph against Leyton Orient at Wembley, and has had loan stints at Scunthorpe and Oxford.

He'll lock horns in League One next season with Mat Sadler, the left-back having signed for newly-promoted Shrewsbury Town after his release from the Millers.
