Bradley strives for new deal

MARK Bradley is banking on his versatility helping him secure a new contract with Rotherham United.

Recruited primarily as a midfielder by Ronnie Moore two years ago, the 24-year-old year-old former Welsh international has got a new lease of life at the club as a right-back since returning from injury in January.

Manager Andy Scott insists it is a position where he can get more games and be a genuine help to the team. Bradley isn't about to argue, especially with his current deal up with summer, although he accepts he was off colour in Saturday's last-gasp defeat to Bristol Rovers.

He told the Advertiser: "I have played at centre-half, right-back and centre-midfield, and last year I played right and left wing as well, so hopefully that is going to help me out in getting a new contract.

"As for right-back, I thought I did well in the four or five matches up to Saturday. We had the best chances but if you're not going to win it, make sure you don't lose it. It was a poor goal to give away and the lads were gutted.

"That was my most disappointing game but I think I'd rather not think about it and concentrate on the next one."
