BOXING: Junaid Bostan lined up for outing on Wood-Warrington bill

ROTHERHAM boxing starlet Junaid Bostan will get another chance to build on his local fan base when he competes on the Leigh Wood v Josh Warrington undercard at Sheffield Arena in October.

The undercard of the WBA world featherweight title clash on October 8 has not been announced by promoters Matchroom.

But the Eastwood-born super welterweight is raring to go and hopes to hear his name will be confirmed shortly.

Bostan has boxed at the Arena in two of his six fights and his popularity has increased after each of his victories, five of them by way of knockout.

The busy 21-year-old defeated Ryan Amos on points at the venue in his last outing, in July.

Amos is a reigning Central Area champion and was Bostan's biggest test so far.

There are suggestions that Bostan will be fighting another champion on the web-streamed Wood v Warrington card.

Bostan has targeted a title for himself by the end of the year.

Trained by Grant Smith, his skill-set is being honed at the Steel City gym in Darnall.

Smith has been awarded the Boxing News Trainer of the year Award for his work with his son Dalton, Bostan and others.
