Boxer Nav eyes comeback fight

BRITISH title hopeful Nav Mansouri wants to tackle a comeback fight by the end of the year before launching into a “massive” 2017.

The Rotherham super welterweight had to pull out of his long-awaited challenge against the unbeaten Liam Williams in March when he snapped his achilles heel in training.

It's been a long way back for the 27-year-old and the best case scenario is that he will need another couple of months before he can fight again.

Speaking to the Advertiser from his training base in Spain this week, Nav said the aim was to fight before Christmas and then take another stab at the British crown next year.

"There are a lot of big fights out there and I want to be in the mix," he added.
