Boss's praise for Pringle

ACTION man Ben Pringle has received a pat on the back for his storming start to the season.

After months in the shadows under previous boss Andy Scott, the 24-year-old has re-emerged a transformed player and a main string puller for the team.

Like his team-mates, Pringle did not cover himself in glory in Saturday's humiliating loss at Port Vale but that won't cloud the judgement of his manager.

Pringle has seen plenty of the ball and turned in some eye-catching displays as well as helping himself to a couple of goals.

Millers chief Steve Evans said: "Ben has played in the Championship (with Derby County) and came to Rotherham to reinvent himself.

"The previous manager fell out of love with him but I love him. He knows he is playing for someone who thinks a lot about what he does on and off the pitch.

"He plays as hard in training as he does in matches; he never stops running and has a great enthusiasm for the game."

The Port Vale slump was a wake-up call for everyone, including Pringle, and Evans added:

"Ben was as bad as everyone else at Port Vale for the first 30 minutes but it was no coincidence that when he gets on the ball and starts playing then we start playing too."
