Bester demands better from Titans

ANDRE Bester has called on his Rotherham side to bounce back quickly from Saturday's home defeat against Plymouth.

The 22-21 reverse put pressure on Titans' hopes of making the top eight play-off cut and makes this Saturday's home game with Cornish Pirates ultra-important.

The Clifton Lane men are now one point clear of both Bristol and Plymouth - albeit with games in hand - and the three sides look set to slug it out in a mini-league to avoid the fourth-bottom place.

Bester was frustrated by Saturday's setback and wants a rapid improvement this weekend.

"We should have had the game wrapped up after leading 18-12 at half time but we lost our way," he said. "It means we can't afford any slips and we have to improve against Pirates - but I'm optimistic that we will be good enough for a top eight place."
