Baines targets return as Mulchrone signs

TITANS hooker Dan Baines is determined to be back before the end of the season after suffering a dislocated knee during Saturday’s win at Plymouth.

Baines, being watched by several Premiership clubs, came out worst after two Albion players landed on his leg during the 21-3 victory

But the pack-man says it could have been worse – ironically  a previous injury having spared more damage.

“I had reconstructive surgery on the knee a few years back and  had that not been the case I’d have been looking at nine months out,” he said.

On the good news front, scrum-half Charlie Mulchrone yesterday signed a new contract extension, with lock Barney Maddison also penning a new deal. Both will stay at the club until the summer of 2014.

Meanwhile, Titans will make a lunchtime pitch inspection today to decide whether or not tomorrow’s British and Irish Cup clash with Aberavon goes ahead.
