ANGLING: Glen Lawrence Triumphs at Southfield Reservoir, Neil Humphries shines at Ravenfield Ponds AC Match

BREAM weren’t easy to find for the 31 anglers fishing the Doncaster DAA match at Southfield Reservoir, although Glen Lawrence did find a few to win.

He landed 21lbs 2ozs of fish to win, with Alan Gregory second with 14lbs 14ozs and Rob Thompson third with 11lbs 6ozs.

Continuing good weights from Ravenfield Ponds AC’s midweek Multi-Pond Series match, held on the Great Pond and Sponsored by Seatbox UK, which in-form angler Neil Humphries won with 29lbs 10ozs from peg 23. Dave Howitt was second with 23lbs 6ozs, just edging Dave Tattersall’s 21lbs into third place and Owen Browne’s 20lbs 6ozs into fourth. 

The club’s Saturday match, fished on the S Y Navigation at Croda, saw the Senior brothers Glynn and Stuart dominate taking the top two places with 9lbs 12ozs and 9lbs 2ozs.  A similar story the following day when just seven fished the Stag AC’s match at the venue which end peg anglers Don Senior won with 6lbs 3.5ozs with Glynn Bramham second with 6lbs 1.5ozs.

Christopher Bell broke the mould at Barnburgh on Tuesday, winning with 158lbs 12ozs and pushing venue expert Paul Nash’s 148lbs 11ozs into second place. 

Lee Cawthorne took a 23lbs 1oz net of skimmer bream to win Monday's match at Wentworth, just ounces ahead of Mick White who had 22lbs 14ozs for second. 18lbs 4ozs put Phil Flanagan in third place leaving Graeme Herbert's 15lbs 3ozs in fourth.
