Amelia gets GB call

The 13-year-old from Swinton has been selected for the GB Cadets team to compete in the European Championships in August.

Amedia, a pupil at Wath School, was chosen after impressing selectors at national and international competitions, having recently taken part in events in Holland and Belgium.

The 3rd Dan black belt started training as a seven year old and now trains with former Olympian Cathy Hook at Doncaster’s Team Ultimate.

Said mum Nicola: “We found out last week that Amelia would be going but couldn’t say anything until it was officially confirmed — she’s been bursting to tell everyone."
