A Mudder of a close-season for footballers!

JUST when footballers thought it was safe to put their feet up...

When most players are taking a welcome break, the lads from Maltby Main will be put through the mill next week when they take part in one of the most gruelling events of the year.

The Northern Counties team, fresh from their best season in almost two decades, are taking part in the adrenaline pumping Tough Mudder at Belvoir Castle in Grantham to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

They’ve been volunteered for the event by team co-manager Spencer Fearn, a Mudder veteran.

He said: “Although most of the lads are fit, a lot of training is taking place to ensure they come through 12 miles of obstacles, being electrocuted, making their way through mud slides and jumping in vats of ice water from great heights!"
