Wentworth School 175-years-old.

LAST year was very special for Wentworth School as it celebrated being 175-years-old.

To celebrate they organised events throughout the year, including a visit for the whole school to Kelham Island in Sheffield, where they went dressed in Victorian costumes and the children experienced what life was like in that era.

The school had a photographer to take photos of the children in a 175 shape at school in the playground.

The school also had a Victorian day in the summer, when pupils were involved in lessons from the Victorian times and ate lunch like a Victorian.

The 175th year was a huge success and Mrs Duroe, the headteacher, delayed her retirement to be part of the celebration.
