Star student Sam engineers Cambridge achievement

A FORMER Advertiser prize winner has picked another top gong — a degree from a presitigious Cambridge college.

Sam Wibberley (22), who won the Advertiser’s Young Achievers Award for Achievement in Education in 2011, graduated on Thursday from Corpus Christi College at the University of Cambridge, where he gained a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Chemical Engineering (BA/MEng).

In 2012, Sam gained the highest A level grades in the borough, secured him his Cambridge spot.

His proud mum Cheryl said: “Sam is a very dedicated and committed young man who has worked hard.

“He said at the Young Achievers ceremony, that it was his personal goal to gain a place at Cambridge.

“I am so very proud of my son, as indeed are all of his family.”

Sam will head off after the summer to begin work as a technical production engineer with Glaxo Smith Kline.
