Stag roundabout: council out of touch

Sir-- I am writing to you about your article in the Rotherham Advertiser (January 13) regarding the Stag roundabout and all the changes.

Sir-- I am writing to you about your article in the Rotherham Advertiser (January 13) regarding the Stag roundabout and all the changes that had happened.

The thing that amused me was when Rotherham Council stated that their computer simulations showed that there would be no issues with the crossing being so close to the exits off the roundabout.

It shows just how out of touch the Council are with regards to "road safety".

I use that roundabout on a regular basis and have witnessed on many occasions near misses, where people have just stepped out onto the road and nearly been run over.

On several occasions I have also witnessed the old "rear ending" of cars when one has to stop quickly. How can the council who have ruined Bramley and Dinnington with their brainwave schemes for one way systems be trusted now to ensure the safety of Stag residents at this locaction.

I am sure that someone on a ridiculously large salary has sat in front of this "magic computer" and given it the go-ahead, with many pats on the back from people just as moronic as they are.

Why can't this council, who have also ruined Rotherham Town Centre see that when people (normal people) tell them that their ideas will not work, they really won't and to carry on blindly just makes them appear to us normal people, to be the overpaid, overpaid, clandestine, bumbling prats that they really are.
