Ramp Up The Red

IN February we are asking Rotherham to Ramp Up the Red.

British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) supporters will go as red as they dare today (February 7) and organise a Dress Up Red, Make Up Red or Party Red event to help fund lifesaving research.

Everyone’s getting into the Ramp up the Red spirit. Whether it’s wearing red make up, donning some fetching red trousers, a traffic-stopping little red dress or painting their nails a scarlet shade. BHF is urging readers to go red with friends, families and colleagues and raise funds that will go directly towards vital research, support and care for those suffering with heart disease.

Everyone can take part and it’s not too late to join in! The BHF is currently seeking volunteers who can spare a couple of hours to help with Ramp up the Red, collections at Asda, Aldwarke Lane. We will supply t-shirts, buckets and everything you will need. Readers will need to select a two hour time slot from 10am to 4pm and select a date from February 14, 15 or 16 —- then pre-register by contacting me on the details below.

By giving time to the BHF and helping to raise funds, readers will help us to fight for every heartbeat.

Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer. For over 50 years the BHF has pioneered research that’s transformed the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions. Our work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are changing the fight against heart disease. But so many people still need our help. From babies born with life-threatening heart problems to the many mums, dads and grandparents who survive a heart attack and endure the daily battles of heart failure. Every pound raised and minute of your time will help make a difference to people’s lives.

The work of the British Heart Foundation is essential — we are  fighting hard to prevent families and friends from losing loved ones to heart disease — but we cannot do it alone, we need support from volunteers. Please give me a call on 07714 069126 or email me at [email protected] if you are prepared to help. For more information about Ramp up the Red, please visit bhf.org.uk/red

I look forward to hearing from you.
