Plenty to cheer!

PUPILS were certainly cheering when their school summer fair featured a steel band.

Rudston School had a Caribbean feel when children turned cheerleaders in the Broom school’s grounds, accompanied by Steel Pantastic.

The event also included a selection of stalls selling everything from Pimm’s to plants and and a penalty shoot-out with Rotherham United mascot Miller Bear.

Tea and cakes, strawberries and cream, hot dogs and a tuck shop ensured that no-one went hungry and many happy children were seen going home with wonderful glittery tattoos and face paints.

Rita Harrison, assistant bursar and treasurer to Friends of Rudston, said: “It was just brilliant to see everyone working together to ensure a successful event for the children.

“We are all really pleased that the sun shone on us and everyone had such a wonderful time.”
