Ode to our potholes

Sir—The worst road in Rotherham, Beaconsfield Road, what has become of you? Your potholes used to be so few but as I drive down you today I have to swerve out of the way. Never have you been so bad. To look at you now makes me feel so sad, holes adorn you

Your potholes used to be so few but as I drive down you today I have to swerve out of the way. Never have you been so bad. To look at you now makes me feel so sad, holes adorn your weary tarmac — why are the council being so slack?

I do not agree with 4x4s upon the highway and would ban them all if I had my way but with all the humps and bumps, raised manholes and ruddy great lumps you need a car that’s really tough as the roads are now so rough, so please can we have our lovely road back or is it funds the council lack?

This is a small poem regarding the road that used to be Beaconsfield. Now it feels more like a farm track. Vehicles are having to swerve around the massive potholes on the brow of the hill. I  am sure that an accident will occur if this situation continues. Please RMBC, do the right thing.
