LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Weak sentence shows law is all wrong

I WAS pleased the brave victims of Lord Ahmed had their day in court and he was found guilty of sex offences against children.

The law though, as they say, truly is an ass. People are found guilty of far less than Ahmed and receive much longer sentences.

It does feel as if it is one law for one and one for another.

Surely his sentence should have been at least double what it was, but no, the law doesn’t allow that and he will be out in just a few years.

The whole system needs a total overhaul. Ridiculous.
