LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Victims are sneered at

I WELCOME the retirement of Chief Superintendent Chapman.

Councillors in our town have been intimidated and threatened, residents have been silenced while he was in charge.

I wrote to one of the officers who works for Ch Supt Chapman to outline my concerns over police treatment of the victims of the most appalling sexual violence. I got no reply.

If the media were to ask about that letter then I’ll lay £100 on the nose they say it didn’t happen. However, I can evidence it did.

The Right Honourable The Lord Mann called for South Yorkshire Police to be disbanded. He’s right.

Elizabeth and many other survivors of vile sexual violence who looked to the police service led by Ch Supt Chapman are being sneered at and told, “sorry, can’t help”.
