Crime comes in all colours

WITH respect to John A Corney (Letters, October 5), he states that the grooming of girls in the area is not without precedent and states a case going back three or four decades, the offenders being white men.

What John fails to mention, is that the offending men were quickly rounded up and prosecuted with the full force of the law at the time. It was not swept under the table for over ten years and allowed to continue, so as not to upset local racial sensibilities. So, yes, John, perverts do come in all colours and creeds but the law should be applied in equal measure.
