Youngsters share the bill with West End star

The youngsters, from the Rotherham Teachers’ Student Academy, will be featured in a special one-off show with Peter Karrie, who has played Jean Valjean in Les Miserables for several years as well as the phantom in Phantom of the Opera.

A spokeswoman for the academy said: “This is an excellent opportunity for the children of Rotherham Teachers Student Academy.

“As we have done Les Miserables before, Peter Karrie has seen our work and feels we are professional and perfect for his ensemble.

“We are very proud of the children in the academy and feel this needs to be shared with the people of Rotherham.”

The production is at the Montgomery Theatre in Wath on Saturday, March 26. Tickets are £10 and are available from the venue or on 01709 513160.

RSTA are also rehearsing their next show, Our House, at Rotherham Civic Theatre from March 29 to April 2.

Our House is a romantic comedy about a 16-year-old who commits a petty crime on his birthday to impress the girl he loves. 

When the police arrive, Joe finds himself at a crossroads and Our House follows the two courses his life would have taken had he stayed to face the music or bunked the law and made a run for it.
