The Yorkshire Air Ambulance has launched its second state-of-the-art chopper, named G-YORX.

A spokesperson said: “Following the successful deployment of the newest H145 D3 model Helicopter, G-YAAA, earlier this year, the addition of G-YORX further strengthens YAA’s ability to provide essential emergency medical care to the people of Yorkshire.

“The arrival of G-YORX amplifies the YAA's operational capabilities, allowing for even greater efficiency in delivering vital emergency services across the region.”

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies on donations to fund life-saving work, with a daily cost of £19,000.

Choppers are based at Nostell Priory in Wakefield and RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk.

A spokesperson said: “Our aim has always been to provide the best possible air ambulance service, and by upgrading our helicopters we can continue to ensure we are futureproofing and modernising our operations and service delivery.”
