Zena to lead sexual health drive

AN EXPERT nurse has been appointed to make access to advice about sex and contraception easier for Rotherham women.

Zena Jones specialises in sexual health and contraception and can be contacted directly for confidential advice and information.

Zena, whose full title is the Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) nurse, specialises in implants, coils and injections.

Her role is to answer women’s questions about the different types of contraception available and which one would suit them best.

She said: "Many women tend to use contraceptive methods they are familiar with, perhaps what was used by their mothers or other members of their family, when today there is a wide range of contraception available. 

“This includes pills and condoms as well as long-acting reversible methods such as implants, coils and injections.

"LARC methods are particularly effective and offer women the choice to protect themselves from an unintended pregnancy without having to remember to take a daily pill.”
