Woman's life-threatening injuries in quad bike smash

A 23-year old woman who was a passenger on a quad bike suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash with a car.

The camouflaged Yamaha bike was being driven by a 24-year-old man when it collided with a red Suzuki Alto GL going the opposite way on Edlington Lane, Edlington.

The quad rider suffered serious injuries and the driver of the Suzuki, a 76-year-old man, was left with minor injuries.

The incident happened close to the junction with Hillside Drive at about 1.45pm on Sunday.

A police spokesman said: “Officers investigating the circumstances of the collision want to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision occurring.”
