Woman seriously hurt by hit-and-run driver

The woman is believed to have been crossing A630 Doncaster Road near to the junction with Crookhill Road in Conisbrough when she was hit by a blue Renault Laguna.

The Laguna was travelling along the A630 toward Doncaster at around 10.30am on Christmas Eve when the incident happened.

The vehicle failed to stop and was later recovered abandoned close by in Conisbrough.

The woman, from Conisbrough, was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary to be treated for a serious head injury.

Officers would like to trace the driver of the Laguna. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicle prior to the incident, should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 315 of December 24.
