Woman in serious condition after bus and car smash

The single-decker bus was travelling along Laughton Common Road, Thurcroft, at 7.25am when it was in collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa travelling in the opposite direction. 

The driver of the car, a 26-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. 

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said this afternoon the woman was in hospital in a serious but stable condition. 

The driver of the bus was not injured. 

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
