Woman home after head-on bus crash

A WOMAN was hospitalised for five days after a head-on collision between a bus and a car.

The single-decker bus was travelling along Laughton Common Road, Thurcroft, at 7.25am on Friday (July 29) when it was in collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa travelling in the opposite direction. 

The driver of the car — a 26-year-old woman — was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the woman was released from hospital on Tuesday.

The driver of the bus was not injured. 

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
