Woman cut from wreckage after M18 pile-up

A woman had to be cut from a Citroen Xsara Picasso after it overturned fafter a collision involving a van on the southbound cariageway near to junction one shortly after 12.30pm today.

She and three other casualties were taken to Rotherham District General.

A police spokeswoman said: “It is understood that their injuries were not life-threatening.”

Both southbound lanes of the M18 were closed following the accident but both have now been reopened.
