Megan Sambrook (18), of Wadworth Street, Denaby Main, admitted the manslaughter of Lewis Guest (below) at Sheffield Crown Court today (Monday).

She was sentenced to five years in prison.

Emergency services were called to reports a man had been assaulted in a flat on Wadworth Street, at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, March 8.

Mr Guest (18) was found with a stabbed in the chest and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A knife was found hidden in the kitchen and forensically linked to Lewis’ injury.

Sambrook was arrested at the flat and charged with murder the following day.

Det Con Jill Rankin, who investigated Lewis’ death, said: “A young man lost his life in deeply tragic circumstances and our thoughts are with Lewis’ family during what remains a very difficult time.

“Megan has accepted responsibility for her actions and understands that, although she may not have intended to kill Lewis, her violence that day led to her partner’s death.

“This is something she will have to come to terms with and face the consequences of her actions in prison.”
