Witness appeal for serious crashes in Rotherham and Todwick

POLICE are seeking witnesses to two serious traffic collisions earlier this week.

Three people suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in Todwick on Wednesday.

A silver Ford Focus was travelling along Sheffield Road towards Todwick crossroads at around 1.20pm.

Near the access to Burne Farm it collided first with a white Ford Focus then a silver Mazda 6.

A 67-year-old man driving the silver Focus, a 73-year-old man driving the white Focus and his 66-year-old female passenger were all hospitalised.

Officers urge anyone who saw the crash to call 101, quoting incident 493 of September 2.

Three more people were injured in a second crash at Centenary Way on Tuesday night.

A black Honda Civic and a black Toyota Starlet were both travelling towards Eastwood at around 8.10pm.

The Starlet collided with a grey Dacia Sandero and a black Toyota Avensis which were stationary at traffic lights near the junction with College Road.

The 22-year-old man driving the Starlet was hospitalised with serious injuries.

A 22-year-old male passenger in the Starlet and a 53-year-old man driving the Avensis suffered minor injuries.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving under the influence of drugs.

Witnesses are asked to call 101, quoting incident 1036 of September 1.
