THE William Hill St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse from September 13 – 16 is a heady mix of top quality racing and a fantastic social scene.

Visited by ardent racegoers and fashionistas alike, the festival culminates on Saturday, September 16, Leger Day, when the world’s oldest classic, the William Hill St Leger race takes place.

And, with five pairs of grandstand tickets available, you too could be part of the action.

The race forms part of the British ‘Classics’ five carefully selected races renowned for their prestige and the horses they attract. First there is the 2000 and 1000 Guineas which start the season in Newmarket. This is followed by the Derby and Oaks at Epsom in the summer with the Doncaster classic forming the final leg of the British ‘Triple Crown’.

A saying, popular in racing circles states that; “The fastest horse wins the Guineas; the luckiest the Derby – and the best horse wins the St Leger.”
