Wickersley traffic disruption expected

MOTORISTS can expect delays from tomorrow on a major route through Rotherham.

Traffic travelling towards Rotherham on both the A631 Bawtry Road and on the B6060 Morthen Road will find the carriageway down to one lane on one half of the Wickersley roundabout.

National Grid Gas are due to start work at about 10am tomorrow morning to repair a gas leak situated on part of the circulatory carriageway adjacent to the Post Office side of the roundabout.

Motorists are advised to take extra care at this point as both the Bawtry and Morthen Roads will be reduced to single lanes as will the roundabout itself.

A borough council spokeswoman said that it was unclear how long the repair work will take.
