During rehearsals, lead actor Adam Walker, from Rotherham, received a message of goodwill from Oliver Tompsett, who took on the central part of Drew in the show’s West End run.

Oliver said: “Those rock songs were not designed to sing night after night so tread carefully and choose your moments to rock out!”

Adam said he would be following the advice very carefully as he starred in the tribute to big hair and loud music.

“I plan to treat my voice like a marathon runner, make sure not to go in a sprint,” he said.

Rock of Ages runs from February 22 to 25 at the Octagon Centre and tickets are available on 07790 413537 or by emailing [email protected]
