We're ready, says Evans

STEVE Evans says his Rotherham United players are fit, ready and fired-up for their day of destiny at the New York Stadium.

They lock horns with bottom-of-the-table Aldershot tomorrow needing a win to be sure of automatic promotion to League One and mindful that even a point will be enough as long as the only team that can catch them, Cheltenham, don't beat Bradford City by seven clear goals.

Already assured of a place in the play-offs, the Bantams are expected to rest players this weekend, handing an advantage to Cheltenham, but having got themselves into an excellent position with a season's best run of four league wins from four, Rotherham are mustard keen to make sure they don't have to rely on favours from others.

Evans told the Advertiser: "Training has gone well this week and the players can't wait to get out there.

"Motivation won't be a problem. They have the desire and if they don't match the desire of the opposition then we will end up with egg on our faces.

"Aldershot only lost two away games out of the last ten. They are going to be relegated and I think they'll come and have a go. It will be tough but we are fully prepared and we know what we've got to do."

The Millers has a full-strength squad to pick from.
