We can win crunch game, says Titans' ace

INFLUENTIAL Titan Will Thomas says his team-mates head into tomorrow’s clash with Jersey bristling with confidence despite last week’s battering at Bristol.

Full-back Thomas will miss the game after being injured in training but believes the squad still has enough firepower, saying: “This is a must-win game.”

Rotherham have certainly upped their performance level over the past month and now face back-to-back matches against the Channel Islanders and then London Scottish knowing that just one defeat will be a massive blow in their bid to avoid bottom spot.

Said the Welshman: “There will be a lot of tackling and defence and hard work this week because we have to win this one.

“We’ve got this big game against Jersey and another big one the following week.

“That Ealing game a few weeks ago gave us a lot of confidence and even though we took a backward step at Bristol we’ll take the good parts into this week.

“In the last 10-15 minutes at Ashton Gate we showed what we are about. The subs came on and made a massive difference but it really wasn’t the overall performance we were looking for because we really wanted to take a point.

“Our defence wasn’t what it was against Ealing a few weeks ago and they obviously pushed Bristol themselves. I thought we took a backward step on Saturday and we have to put that right.”
