Volunteer's town centre collection for Haiti

Volunteers with the international relief organisation Muslim Hands will be out and about this weekend raising money for the Haiti earthquake appeal.

Taukir Iqbal and others will be collecting on Howard Street and Bridgegate in Rotherham town centre on Saturday.

The quake claimed hundreds of thousands of lives when it struck last month.

Muslim Hands has been helping support orphaned children, supply drinking water and reuniting lost friends and family through a communications centre.

Volunteers helped provide medical help for children, as well as handing out 2,500 teddy bears and making provisions for artificial limbs and wheelchairs.
