Violinist virtuoso Jennifer plays Tchaikovsky in South Yorkshire

VIRTUOUSO violinist Jennifer Pike joins Denis Lotoev and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra on the Sheffield City Hall stage this week.

The concert on Friday (21) is set to be one of the highlights of the 2016/17 Sheffield International Concert Season  programme.

After bursting onto the scene with a prodigal BBC Young Musician of the Year win at the age of 12, Jennifer has firmly established herself as one of the world’s most in-demand soloists, renowned for her brilliant interpretative flair and outstanding technical ability.

At 15, she made acclaimed debuts at the BBC Proms and Wigmore Hall, before being named a BBC New Generation Artist, winning the International London Music Masters Award and becoming the only classical artist ever to win the South Bank Show/Times Breakthrough Award.

Friday’s concert will feature Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, a piece from Borodin’s opera Prince Igor and Tchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony.

The concert is in the City Hall’s Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall from 7pm.

Tickets are available on 0114 2789 789 or at www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk.
