That’s because no-one else in the world wraps chips as quickly as Stephanie Celik.

The 37-year-old, who has worked in chippies since she was 13, looks to have set the fastest time for wrapping five portions of chips.

Mother-of-eight Stephanie now faces a nervous wait as she sends her evidence to Guinness to get it officially verified.

She first broke the world record in 2012, in front of an official adjudicator from Guinness, setting a time of 58.4 seconds.

Her efforts were documented in the CBBC programme Officially Amazing.

He reputation as the fastest chip wrapper in the West grew as she was invited on to ITV show Let’s Do Lunch with Gino & Mel, but celebrity chef Gino D’Campo failed to break her world record.

Stephanie later improved her world record to 50.08 seconds but, seven months ago, it was beaten by Tariq Siddique at Albany Fish Bar, Cardiff, who set a time of 48.17 seconds.

Stephanie resolved to reclaim the title and chose June 1, National Fish and Chip Day, for her record attempt.

The task facing Stephanie was to wrap five bags of chips, each weighing at least 350g, with salt and vinegar, in at least two sheets of paper.

She had to enlist the help of two timekeepers - Ellie Shackleton and Hayley Wood from Maltby Leisure Centre - and two independent witnesses.

Stephanie firstly set a time of 45.47 seconds - but she thought she could do better than that as she had beaten that time whilst practicing.

And on her second attempt she recorded her record-breaking time of 44.43 seconds in front of a cheering crowd and the chip shop’s mascot, Chip.

Stephanie said: “It’s fantastic to reclaim the record as I have waited a while to get it back.

“I’m going to personally phone up the Albany Fish Bar and tell him I have broken the record.”

Stephanie said running around after her eight children helped to keep her nimble.

“I don’t like people to be waiting so I try to get them [the chips] out as quickly as possible,” she said.

“I don’t want people having to wait for their food - that’s what fast food is all about!”

Stephanie said she was “really pleased” with the support she received on the day.

“It’s nice that the community are getting involved and it was nice of Maltby Leisure Centre to give up their time for free,” she said.
