VIDEO: Recycling project reckons 'Rotherham Can'

A RECYCLING scheme has challenged children to collect a ton of cans—and transform some of them into trinkets.

Rotherham Can—backed by the Area Assembly, police and fire service—has encouraged High Greave Junior pupils to bring in the empty containers.

It follows a litter pick pilot last year, when the aluminium collected was melted and made into toys and other souvenirs by Casting Innovations.

“It’s also about drawing a line in the sand, we know what we’ve achieved so far and what we can do to take it further.”
