VIDEO: Club turn's new verses for Diamond Jubilee

A PATRIOTIC former Advertiser reporter and star club turn has added two new verses to the national anthem to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Roger Brooks, who used to rock the Rotherham club circuit as front man for The Stereos, recorded his version of God Save The Queen with Bournemouth’s 80-strong Voice Community Choir in an effort to make the iconic anthem more relevant to those celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s 60 years on the throne.

Roger, of Letwell, said: “I’ve written a few verses here and there before but nothing Ive written has seen the light of day before, so it was a proud moment to hear the choir belting it out.

“They make a phenomenal sound.”
