UPDATE: Man arrested after Mexborough stabbing

A MAN has been arrested following a stabbing in Mexborough which has left a man hospitalised.

Police were called to Dryden Road just after 10.30pm on Monday (11) following reports of an altercation between a group. A 28-year-old man has been hospitalised with stab wounds and remains in a serious but stable condition.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A 49-year-old Doncaster man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident in Mexborough on Monday night in which a 28-year-old man suffered stab wounds.

“The 49-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault remains in police custody and enquiries are continuing.”
