UPDATE - M18 reopen after accident

THE M18 near Rotherham has reopened after a vehicle crashed into the central reservation, leaving a man with serious injuries,

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at around 1pm, the Highways Agency said, and the driver of the BMW involved in the accident was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

The northbound carriageway was closed between junctions one and two and the air ambulance also attended the incident.

Police said a 39-year-old man from Doncaster had been seriously hurt in the crash.
