Union fears cuts will spark new recession

Shopworkers’ union Usdaw said the coalition’s economic policy was “unfair and irresponsible.”

Speaking after Wednesday’s spending review announcements by Chancellor George Osborne, Usdaw general secretary John Hannett, said: “We accept there is a need to reduce the deficit but we believe the speed and depth of the proposed cuts is both unfair and irresponsible.
