Ugly Duckling play comes to Old Moor nature reserve

A PLAY about a sad little duckling is coming to a local nature reserve later this month.

Aesop’s Touring Theatre Company will be performing Not Such an Ugly Duckling at the RSPB’s Old Moor site on Manvers Way on August 30 and 31.

Using puppetry, music and songs the interactive adaptation of the traditional tale will spread the message that bullying is wrong.

There will be two matinee performances at 2pm on August 30 and August 31.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £7 for children which includes entry to the nature reserve. They can be booked on 01226 751593.

Liane Holdsworth, visitor experience manager at the reserve, said: “We are so pleased to be able to welcome Aesop’s Touring Theatre Company to the reserve. This show will delight children of all ages.

“We hope that seeing this performance in this setting will encourage more children to connect with the nature all around them. Children can explore the reserve before or after the performance to see if they can spot any of the real creatures from the story.”
