Two years in jail for sex-offending drug smuggler

A MAN has been jailed for two years for sexual activity with a child and smuggling drugs into a prison.

Hayden Shaw (20), of Oates Close in Masbrough, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday to be sentenced in two separate cases.

Shaw was locked up for two years for each of two counts of conveying drugs into HMP Doncaster on August 15, 2016.

He was also ordered to serve three months in a young offenders’ institute for the sex offence against a child under 16, which happened in Rotherham between December 12, 2014, and August 21, 2015.

The three terms are to run concurrently, meaning a total of two years’ imprisonment.

The court also ordered that Shaw forfeit drugs and paraphernalia and sign on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
